GET SMART: THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK: PART 1 (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a bumbling secret agent.
In the first half of this two-part episode, Max's evening is interrupted by the arrival of frantic KAOS defector Gina – who is shot by a sniper before she can impart any intel. Smart's old Army pal Sid Krimm then barges in for a visit, and though he seems skeptical of his friend's claim of working in the greeting-card industry, he decides to call up a pair of "broads" for a double date. He uses Smart's little black book – which is really Gina's. He then chats with Nancy and Zelda, who are really KAOS agents working with "the Maestro," and they agree to meet up at a bar. Sid then catches his "ding-a-ling" friend talking on a shoe phone with a semi-conscious woman in his room; when Smart finally admits that he works for a secret government association, Sid assumes he's playing an elaborate joke.
Arriving for the "date," Smart immediately recognizes Nancy and Zelda as KAOS agents, both of whom are desperate to recover Gina's book. When Smart gets into a fight with their gunman pal, Sid decides to save his delusional friend "from himself" and knocks Smart out. Back at home, Smart is stunned to find that Sid has given away Gina's book of information. When Smart then introduces Sid to 99 and the Chief – and puts him on the phone with the president – Sid is finally convinced of his former corporal's secret double life. Sid begs to help with the mission, unaware that armed KAOS agents are positioned outside, ready to take out the two "sitting ducks." Continues on B:78883. Commercials deleted.
