GEORGE LOPEZ: LEAVE IT TO LOPEZ (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, Max and Carmen prepare to scare their parents with a Halloween-themed prank, though Angie and George are a few steps ahead of them. Benny consults a "psychic," Clara, who tells her that she will be "visited by Death" three times within twenty-four hours, and everyone apart from a skeptical George is unnerved when Bill, the factory janitor, suddenly drops dead. Angie is shocked to learn that none of the workers, including George, have life insurance, and she orders him to look into the matter for the sake of their family. An annoyed George watches classic television with Max and, after falling asleep, has a "Leave It to Beaver"-themed dream in which he, as "Ward," admits to "the Beav" that he has put off getting insurance because he is secretly scared of doctors and of his own mortality, thanks to his mother's claim that his father died prematurely.
In a "Munsters"-inspired scene, "Yvonne" and "Marilyn" trick "Herman" into undergoing the necessary insurance physical, which he passes – but "Grandpa" then accidentally poisons the doctor, making him the second death. In a "Jetsons"-like scene, "George" arrives home from the office and decides to lock himself in his room for the final hour of the "curse," fearful of becoming Death #3, but he is sucked into one of the family's high-tech gadgets and perishes, lamenting his choice not to provide for his family after all. George then awakens and, shaken by the dreams, assures Angie that he will look into obtaining life insurance right away. Includes commercials and promos.
