GEORGE LOPEZ: GEORGE'S EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOLMES EDITION (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series, set in Los Angeles, in which comedian George Lopez plays family man "George Lopez." In this episode, Carmen prepares to run for student council as Angie tries to get her wedding-planning business up and running, though the betrothed couple is annoyed by all of the Lopez household chaos and leaves. Annoyed, Angie tells George that she needs a professional office in which to conduct her business, and he promises to quickly remodel the messy garage without the help of a contractor. A few days later, however, George and Ernie realize that they are in far over their heads with the remodel and call two shifty handymen, Victor and Bobby, to secretly help them to finish the job within three days.
Angie is thrilled when George presents her with the elegant workspace, though when a city inspector arrives to examine the place, George admits that he did not acquire the necessary permits. The inspector is shocked by the poorly-constructed "death trap" and declares the garage off-limits until it is brought up to code, and though George tries to defend his "professional" workers, he finally admits that he did not want to spend too much on the project, as he is still unsure that Angie's business will prosper. Angie angrily points out that she had faith in him when they married despite the fact that he was unemployed at the time, and an abashed George makes amends by renting out a nearby office space for her and securing a two-year lease, signaling his confidence in her talents. Later, Carmen dejectedly reveals that she lost out on the treasurer seat, and George is suspicious when he meets the "charismatic" young man who won the election over her.
