LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN {DONALD TRUMP, BRIAN BINNIE, MINNIE DRIVER} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of late-night talk/variety programs hosted by David Letterman. This program features real estate mogul and reality TV star Donald Trump, spaceflight test pilot Brian Binnie and actress/singer Minnie Driver.

In his opening monologue, Letterman touches upon the following topics: the arrival of Columbus Day; the first free election in Afghanistan; the ongoing Presidential and Vice-Presidential debates; and Bill and Hillary Clinton's wedding anniversary. Letterman then ventures into the audience for a round of "Know Your Current Events" and questions two attendees about their knowledge of Applebee's menu items and various cuts of meat.

The first guest, Trump, takes the stage and discusses the relative success of his reality series "The Apprentice," which airs on rival network NBC; his ownership of the Miss USA Pageant and frequent attempts to flirt with the women, who find him "irritating"; his enjoyment of firing people on and off his show; the many lawsuits filed against him over the years; his opinions on first-season "Apprentice" winner Bill Rancic; the contestants' experience of "seven weeks of total hell"; his involvement with many commercial products, including a line of suits and a men's fragrance that will help wearers to "get" women; a creepy action figure made in his accurate likeness, complete with talking feature; and a challenging round of "Trump or Monkey," in which he correctly identifies a disguised picture of his own signature hairstyle.

Next, Binnie sits down with Letterman and discusses his background as a Navy pilot; test-piloting the experimental rocket-powered suborbital SpaceShipOne; how the craft becomes a glider, like the Wright Brothers' flyer, upon landing; photos from his brief time in outer space; whether he will receive a cut of the $10 million Ansari X Prize, awarded to Mojave Aerospace Ventures, which developed the SpaceShipOne; and his views on the future of flight and space exploration.

Finally, Driver performs the title track from her debut album, "Everything I've Got in My Pocket." Includes commercials and promos.
