UGLY BETTY: A NICE DAY FOR A POSH WEDDING (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy-drama series about Betty Suarez, a young Queens woman trying to make it in the fashion industry despite her unglamorous appearance.
In this episode, Marc makes preparations for Wilhelmina's wedding to Bradford, as Victoria "Posh" Beckham capitalizes on having been chosen as maid of honor. Elsewhere, Ignacio is horrified to discover that Betty is sleeping with Henry, causing Betty to move out of the house. Before leaving, Betty confides in Hilda that Wilhelmina convinced her to betray Daniel so that Ignacio could get his visa. Back at the office, Daniel bristles when Bradford asks Alexis to stand up for him at the nuptials. Later, Christina escapes with Betty into Fey's sex dungeon after she spies her husband Stuart in the hallway. Christina explains that she walked out on him in Scotland years ago. Wilhelmina's day also goes downhill when Posh upstages her while trying on Vera Wang gowns, causing Wilhelmina to take drastic measures with the maid of honor's dress. Meanwhile, Stuart asks Christina's forgiveness for his past mistakes, as Betty moves in with Henry.
Ignacio prepares for his citizenship ceremony and takes umbrage at Betty's absence. Hilda then tells him about Betty's sacrifice. Back in Manhattan, Christina wakes up after spending the night with Stuart, then realizes that he's still an addict. Later, Stuart explains that he's come to Manhattan to try to get $100,000 to fund an experimental drug which may save his diseased liver. After Wilhelmina wakes up with bodyguard Dwayne, Daniel knocks on the door and realizes what's going on. Later, he tries to find proof in Wilhelmina's office and is discovered by Betty, who claims to know nothing about the affair.
As guests gather for Wilhelmina's wedding, a cleaned-up Cliff shows up and delights Marc, and causes Amanda to dial back her vitriol. Elsewhere, Henry convinces Betty to attend her father's citizenship ceremony, which brings Ignacio to tears. After Daniel fails to make Wilhelmina and Dwayne confess, a jealous Wilhelmina has Dwayne lock the scene-stealing Posh in a closet.
As Justin follows details of the wedding on television, Ignacio encourages Betty to come clean with Daniel, at which point she rushes to St. Patrick's Cathedral and interrupts the ceremony. Betty confesses her knowledge of Wilhelmina's affair to Daniel, who fires Betty for her months of duplicity. Daniel then insists on talking to Bradford. Upon being told of the affair, a distressed Bradford has a heart attack on the altar, as a Times Square Jumbotron broadcasts the goings-on to a crowd that includes a heartbroken Betty.
