Summary
A 1993 rebroadcast of a program that originally aired on KLIF-AM (Dallas, Texas) in 1963. The program consists of a compilation of news reports concerning the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Host Don Keyes introduces actual radio broadcasts of those "fateful hours" in Dallas when the nation's thirty-fifth president was gunned down by assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. Tippit was killed in an attempt to apprehend a suspect in the crime; an early description of alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald; an interview with Oswald's housekeeper, who saw him following the assassination; audio of a question-and-answer session with a detained Oswald; Joe Long reports on Oswald's murder at the hands of nightclub operator Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963; reporter Gordon McClendon, at a football game in Cleveland, Ohio, talks to spectators who believe that the Dallas police had arrested the wrong man for Kennedy's murder; Ruby's sister Eva Grant states that she believed Ruby got close to Oswald by acquiring a bogus press pass; audio of Gov. John Connally bidding farewell from Dallas' Parkland Hospital following his release on December 5, 1963; and Don Keyes interviews reporter Roy Nichols thirty years after the assassination regarding his memories of the event.
