Highlights include: Kevin and Bean play "A Girl Like You" by Edwin Collins and present a birthday cake to MTV video jockey Kennedy, who has joined them in the studio; comedian Gilbert Gottfried also drops by the studio to wish Kennedy a happy birthday and cause some extra commotion; next there's a news update with Boyd "Doc on the Roq" Britton and sports news with Jimmy "The Sports Guy" Kimmel; the disc jockey's then play "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morissette; the on-going argument between Kevin and Bean and "Mr. Berchum" over whether or not water should be considered a beverage continues; next Kevin and Bean review the winners from the MTV Video Music Awards; Lisa May gives the Los Angeles traffic report; the hosts play "Low Self-Esteem" by the Offspring; next there's some gossip from the awards show, including the attempts to get David Letterman to accept an award for rapper Dr. Dre; Kevin and Bean play "Name" by the Goo Goo Dolls; they discuss what Gottfried has been doing with his career besides hosting "USA Up All Night"; next there is an interview with Donald Trump at one of the after-show parties; the hosts play "Two Hearts Beat As One" by U2; Kennedy and Gottfried refuse to leave despite Bean's urgings; then Adam "Mr. Berchum" Corolla voices his opinion about the X-rated pay channel at his hotel; Kevin and Bean play "My Friends" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers; on the regular segment of "Ask Mr. Berchum," listeners learn out how to fix things around the home; the hosts play "Basket Case" by Green Day; Ben Gilles, the fifteen-year-old drummer from Silverchair, drops by the studio to say hello and talk about the success of their record "Frogstomp"; Kevin and Bean play "One Of Us" by Joan Osborne and "Love Cats" by the Cure; they present an interview with U2's drummer Larry Mullen, Jr., during the award show; they play "In the Blood" by Better Than Ezra; Michael "The Maintenance Man" Burton calls to inform the hosts when he's coming to New York to join the show; and Kevin and Bean offer a look ahead at what's to come in the next week while they are still broadcasting from New York.
