END OF THE ROAD SHOW, THE {#52} (RADIO)
Summary
One in this series of variety shows hosted by and
starring Tom Bodett. Bodett opens this program with
"The End of the Road Review," featuring a discussion
about recent events in his hometown. Pianist Johnny B.
Bushell plays his own composition, "Sunny Side Up," and
Bodett tells the story of Ed Flanagan, a friend of his
who is recovering in the hospital. In a segment
featuring the voice characterizations of Fred Newman,
Bodett asks "callers" the question, "what was the
hardest work you've ever done?" Randy Erwin performs
the song "Any Old Time," and, in honor of the upcoming
Labor Day, Bodett talks about his days working in
construction.
