FRED ALLEN SHOW, THE (RADIO)
Summary
One in this series of comedy/variety shows starring Fred Allen. Allen and announcer Kenny Delmar open the show with a discussion of the news of the week and a critique of the "Jack Benny Show" of that evening. Allen then talks with the regulars of Allen's Alley: Senator Claghorn, Titus Moody, Mrs. Nussbaum, and Ajax Cassidy, about their radio listening habits. The DeMarco Sisters sing "Betty Blue," after which Al Goodman and his Orchestra play a brief rendition of "Tell Me a Story." In his weekly letter to Portland, Allen tells her about tracking down special guest Bing Crosby. Bing and Allen talk about Crosby's new biography and Crosby, Allen, and the company present some scenes from a possible movie version of the book.
