Summary

Highlights of this program include the following segments: Dean Martin sings "You'd Be Surprised"; Jerry Lewis jokes about his parents' work in show business and how he assisted them in their act; Lewis explains how his brother's head became pointed; Martin reveals the identity of the show's secret guest to Lewis; Marilyn Monroe, Martin, and Lewis talk about the dress Monroe is wearing and her new movie "Niagara"; Lewis attempts to get her to go out on a date with him; Lewis, Martin, and Monroe perform in a sketch about the newspaper editor of the "Daily Hangover" (Lewis) who is loved by his star reporter (Marilyn Monroe); Martin portrays the publisher who does not approve of their relationship; and Martin sings "How Deep Is the Ocean?" At the end of the program, the editor of Redbook magazine, Wade Nichols, presents the Silver Cup Awards to the following people: Marge and Gower Champion, who win for best young dance team; Julie Harris, who is named best dramatic actress; Leslie Caron, who wins for best young foreign actress; Marilyn Monroe, who is named best young boxoffice personality; and Martin and Lewis, who win for best young comedy team.
