Part one of two. One in this jazz music series spotlighting American musicians from the early masters of the 1920s to contemporary performers. Host Ed Beach provides commentary on the artists' works and presents contrasting versions of certain musical pieces.

Part one of the second half of this two-day program profiles the music of Dixieland jazz trombonist Georg Brunis. Brunis's trombone work is featured on the following recordings: "Sweet Lovin' Man" and "Wang Wang Blues" (1946), with Wild Bill Davison's Commodore group; "Sweet Mama (Papa's Getting Mad)" (1942), with Joe Marsala's Chosen Seven; "Angry" and "Marguerite" (1923), with the New Orleans Rhythm Kings; "Eccentric," featuring a 1922 version by the New Orleans Rhythm Kings and a 1939 version by Muggsy Spanier and his Ragtime Band; "Panama" (1943), with Wild Bill Davison's Commodores; "Georgia Grind" (1940), with Eddie Condon and his band, featuring Fats Waller on piano; "Weary Blues" (1964), with the Rhythm Kings in Chicago; and another version of "Panama" (1934), with the New Orleans Rhythm Kings.
