GANG BUSTERS (RADIO)
Summary
One in this series of dramatized "authentic police case histories." Colonel Schwartzkopf opens this episode and introduces A.K. McAllister of Sacramento, California, who relates the facts which led to the executions of Duchess Juanita Spinelli, the only woman to be executed by the State of California, and her gang. Detective McAllister relates how the Duchess, who is said to have inherited her savagery from Indian ancestors, recruited her gang and led them in a series of car thefts and robberies. During one of these robberies, the victim is murdered. The Duchess, in an attempt to protect herself from her jittery cohorts, arranges for the faked suicide of one. Another of the gang members, now suspicious and certain that he will be killed next, escapes from the Duchess and reveals her whereabouts to the police. When the Duchess is picked up, along with her two remaining accomplices, she is betrayed by one of them. The Duchess and two of her remaining gang members are executed for the murder of the store owner.
