Summary

One in this series of comedy/variety programs hosted by Jack Paar. On this program, Paar's guests are the actor Richard Burton, the comedian Bill Cosby, and the entertainer Arthur Godfrey. Highlights include: Paar opens the show with a monologue which centers around President Lyndon B. Johnson's need to constantly meet the people; Richard Burton, the first guest, recites part of Sir Winston Churchill's famous Iron Curtain speech, tells about the first time he met Churchill while playing Hamlet in a small theater in London, and describes what it is like currently playing Hamlet on Broadway every night; the next guest is Bill Cosby, who does a stand-up routine about going to monster and western movies and gives his version of what the Revolutionary War must have been like considering the primitive kinds of guns used; the final guest, Arthur Godfrey, discusses his upcoming trip to Africa, the novel he plans on writing after the trip, what it was like the last time he went to Africa, the hunting portion of the trip, and to close the show he sings a song. Includes commercials. (This is a black-and-white copy of a color telecast.)
