BONANZA: JUSTICE (TV)
Summary
One in this long-running western drama series about widower Ben Cartwright, his sons, and their adventures on their ranch in Nevada's Ponderosa. In this episode, Little Joe proposes to his sweetheart -- Sally, the bank manager's daughter -- and she eagerly accepts. But their good cheer is threatened by Horace (Beau Bridges), an emotionally troubled bank teller whose thwarted passion for Sally ultimately finds a violent means of expression. In a drunken state, Horace calls on Sally late one night to confess his feelings, but Sally, disgusted by his condition, rebuffs his clumsy advances. When she threatens to call her father, Horace fumbles to cover her mouth, inadvertently breaks her neck, and flees before the crime can be discovered. The investigation leads no clues, but the inconsolable Joe believes that Horace is somehow involved. Townspeople echo Joe's sentiments and they call for Horace's arrest, but without proper evidence, no legal action can be taken. When Horace leaves town, Joe stalks him in the hopes of eliciting a confession. Commercials deleted.
