NEW LOVE AMERICAN STYLE: LOVE AND THE SECOND
HONEYMOON/LOVE AND THE MAID OF HONOR {SERIES
PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The pilot in this updated version of the 1969-1974 series of comedy programs looking at love in America from many points of view. In the first segment, "Love and the Second Honeymoon," Phyllis wants to take her husband Harry on a surprise vacation. She ultimately reveals that she wants to take him on a second honeymoon, revisiting the Tiptoe Inn and suite 212, where they first honeymooned. Upon arrival, Harry and Phyllis quickly find that the now-rundown honeymoon suite has lost all its charm. Angered, Harry makes Phyllis immediately return home. But now Phyllis is angered by Harry's lack of romanticism. Unable to sleep that night, husband and wife find themselves eating leftovers and wondering if the Tiptoe Inn had always been a dump, yet they just never noticed due to their epic love for each other. In the second segment, "Love and the Maid of Honor," Gary is about to marry Gail. Meanwhile, Gary wishes he could get Larry, his passive identical twin brother a wife, too. Then, Gail's maid of honor, Roz, arrives. She soon meets Larry, confused and thinking it is Gary that keeps hitting on her. She tries to warn Gail, but the confusion just escalates when she thinks Gail doesn't mind a philandering fiancŽ. Finally, the wedding day comes and Roz suddenly thinks she's seeing double. Also, a "blackout" skit follows each story. Commercials deleted.
