MAGNUM, P.I.: LAURA (TV)
Summary
One in this detective series set in Hawaii, starring Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a former naval officer turned private investigator. In this episode, a recently retired New York City police officer, Doheny (Frank Sinatra), arrives in Hawaii claiming to be looking for Geiger, the missing son of a long-time friend. Doheny hires Magnum to assist in the search. Magnum realizes something is amiss when he and Doheny follow a lead and locate a friend of Geiger's who is so afraid of Doheny that he runs onto a busy street and is killed by an oncoming truck. Magnum learns from Lt. Page that the dead man was one of two suspects in the unsolved rape and murder of Doheny's seven-year-old granddaughter; the other suspect is Geiger. When Magnum attempts to confront Doheny with this information, he learns that Doheny has set out on his own to continue his quest for revenge. Magnum and Page realize that Doheny does not intend to take Geiger into custody and try to find the two men before it is too late. Meanwhile, T.C. anxiously attempts to get Magnum to include promotions for his helicopter charter service in the documentary he is making, unaware that the film is only Magnum's nephew's show-and-tell project.
