HAPPY DAYS: FEARLESS FONZARELLI {PART 1 OF 2} (TV)

Summary

The first of two programs on this tape. One in the series of comedies about life in the 1950s. In this episode, Richie, Potsie, and Ralph become upset with Arnold's thrifty ways when he starts to charge "a minimun" for merely sitting in a booth. As the boys stage a protest, Fonz arrives to speak with Richie. Fonz tells him that he may be losing his cool. That night, the Cunninghams watch TV, tuning in to "You Wanted To See It." Host Jack Smith explains that it's an opportunity for normal people to tackle strange feats to attain fame. Fonz thinks the show could be his ticket to getting his swagger back. Richie writes in with a request, and by the next week "Fearless Fonzarelli" is scheduled to make a record-breaking motorcycle jump over fourteen garbage cans outside Arnold's. The night before the event, Arnold prepares his place for all the customers that will arrive due to the publicity Fonz has given him. Even Jack sees no way Fonz can jump fourteen garbage cans and wants him to sign liability papers. With the jump getting closer, Fonz gets nervous and he begins to write his will. With a large crowd gathered and the fourteen cans in place, Fonz puts on his jumpsuit and speaks to the Cunninghams as he prepares to be a daredevil. Finally, Fonz makes his appearance to the screaming crowds and revs his bike before he goes off! Includes commercials.
