Summary
One in this series of dramas about the personal and professional dilemmas confronting a close-knit group of friends -- urban baby boomers in their thirties -- living in Philadelphia. In this episode, Michael Steadman prepares to travel to Chicago for the unveiling of a tombstone for his deceased father, while Michael's wife, Hope, is involved in a horrible accident. Shaken by this trauma in the middle of the holiday season, Michael begins to question his faith in Judaism, and he imagines himself in the carefree world of the "The Mike Van Dyke Show," where a kindly old gentleman dressed as Santa Claus intervenes in his life. Meanwhile, Michael's partner, Elliot, and Elliot's wife, Nancy, endure a painful Christmas. Includes commercials.
