Summary
One in this comedic serial about two families, the affluent Tates and their working-class relatives, the Campbells. In this one-hour season opener, the Tates and the Campbells wonder who actually murdered Peter Campbell, while, in the kitchen, Chester tries to commit suicide in a bizarre series of botched attempts; Jodie and Carol move in together under platonic terms; Tim introduces his fiancee, Corinne, to his mother, who violently objects to their marriage plans; Jessica is sentenced to prison, but Chester interrupts the proceedings and confesses to the murder, later claiming that he had no memory of the incident until he attempted suicide; Jessica tells her children that she loves Chester despite the fact that he framed her for murder; Mary asks Burt if he is having an affair; Chester performs "Tea for Two" for his cellmate, Dutch, who is also a murderer, as Jessica brings them a picnic lunch; and Carol has important news for Jodie. Includes scenes from previous and upcoming episodes. Commercials deleted.
