GOLDEN GIRLS, THE: OLD FRIENDS (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about four older women -- two widows, and a divorcee and her mother -- who share a home in Miami and help each other to cope with growing older and being single again. In this episode, Sophia copes with separation from her close companion, Alvin, who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Although Sophia has suspected that her friend was ill, it is not until Alvin must move back to New York to live with his family that she fully realizes the value of their friendship. Meanwhile, Rose deals with a much less serious loss: the disappearance of her cherished teddy bear, Fernando, whom Blanche mistakely gave to a blackmailing Sunshine Cadet named Daisy. The young girl demands cash for the safe return of the bear, but Rose comes up with a better plan for rescuing her old friend. Commercials deleted.
