IT'S GARRY SHANDLING'S SHOW: THE NATURAL (TV)
Summary
One in this cable comedy series starring stand-up comic Garry Shandling as himself -- the star of a television show. The show is set in a replica of Shandling's own living room and the comedian often breaks "the fourth wall" by addressing the audience directly. In this episode, a spoof of the film "The Natural," Garry narrates a story of how he became the best ping-pong player ever. However, after an injury to his playing wrist, young Garry walked away from the game. Eighteen years later, Leonard tells Garry about the inter-condominium ping-pong championship, which Garry refuses to participate in. While playing with Grant, Garry unveils his special paddle and feels drawn back into the game. At the competition, Pete gets disqualified because of steroid use and Garry nobly fills-in for him in a grueling match.
