Summary
One in this series about Sheriff Andy Taylor, his family, and the residents of Mayberry. In this episode, Opie and his chums struggle in vain to sell jars of a product called Miracle Salve from door to door. One boy receives an ominously threatening letter from the Miracle Salve company after giving up and returning his unsold merchandise. Disguised as veterinarians, Barney and Gomer visit the Miracle Salve headquarters -- a dingy, fly-by-night office -- and claim the salve cures mange. In a pinched "incognito" voice, Barney strikes a phony deal with the salve merchants, prompting them to buy back all of the Mayberry boys' stock. Barney's plan seems to work brilliantly, until a panicked phone call from Aunt Bee reveals a fatal flaw in his strategy. Commercials deleted.
