MURPHY BROWN: TV OR NOT TV (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Murphy Brown, a high-profile, successful broadcast newswoman, and her colleagues on the newsmagazine series "FYI." In this episode, Miles informs the members of "FYI" that actress Julia St. Martin will be observing them as part of her research for her new sitcom about a tough female reporter. Murphy is disgusted to see her colleagues ogling over the good-looking actress. To make matters worse, Julia decides that Murphy would be the perfect person to model her character after. However, Murphy soon overcomes her reservations about the actress when she discovers that Julia St. Martin is an extremely bright woman. In fact, she is so flattered by Julia's admiration of her work that she agrees, against Miles's advice, to make a cameo appearance on the premiere of the new series. Meanwhile, Murphy has to contend with her new secretary who is a rap artist. In addition, Connie Chung makes a cameo appearance on the program, adding an ironic twist to the end of the episode. Commercials deleted.
