Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. This program is based on the memoirs of Juan Nepomuceno Seguín, a soldier and politician born in San Antonio under Spanish rule in the 19th century. In this historical recreation, Seguín becomes famous while fighting for the independence of Texas at the Alamo and at San Jacinto. He eventually becomes a highly respected politician and struggles to insure better living conditions for his people. Yet Seguín grows increasingly frustrated when American ranchers move into the Texas flatlands and express prejudice and bigotry against the Mexican and Spanish populations. Includes a promo for "American Playhouse."
