PLAY FOR TODAY: ANGELS ARE SO FEW (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. In one of writer Dennis Potter's visitation dramas -- where normality is overturned by the arrival of an unexpected stranger, a guest who may be supernatural, imaginary, or possibly deranged -- Michael Biddle (Bell), convinced he is an angel, disrupts the numbing routine of housewife Cynthia Nicholls (Hargreaves). After viewing a documentary on sexual freedom with her prudish husband, Cynthia, repressed and unfullfilled, decides to see if the putative angel has wings. Potter reuses the character of Michael in the 1973 teleplay "Only Make Believe."
