FELIPE HA GLI OCCHI AZZURRI {FELIPE HAS BLUE EYES} {ITALIAN WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES} (TV)
Summary
This dramatic program concerns a young boy, Felipe, who is caught in an illegal child-trade operation. When an Asian child-trade network brings a shipment of children to Sicily, the police are waiting, and eleven-year-old Felipe is taken to a shelter for boys. In this part, before Police Chief Antonio Stasi and French official Mara Havel can get information from Felipe that could help them identify the European arm of the ring, the child runs away to Palermo where he is befriended by a gang of homeless children. Felipe and his friends go to Rome to search for Father Leopold, a clergyman Felipe remembers from his hometown. They are taken in by two shifty characters who provide food, shelter, and jobs in return for half of the children's earnings. Meanwhile, the Italian police prepare to arrest members of the child-trade ring with the help of an undercover officer who masquerades as a criminal. This program is in Italian with English subtitles. (This program was a joint production from Italy, France, Germany and Spain. This program won the Silver Nymph award for Best Scenario, 1991 Festival de Television de Monte Carlo.)
