AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: TRIPLE PLAY {TEACH 109; RAY'S MALE HETEROSEXUAL DANCE HALL; HOMESICK} (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic anthology series. Part one of two parts in this compilation of three short films. In the futuristic fantasy, "Teach 109," lifelike androids have replaced research lab animals. One gifted medical student seems more concerned with success than with the condition of her "patients," until she encounters a music-loving android who seems remarkably human. (This feature received the Bronze Award at the Houston International Film Festival.)

In the tongue-in-cheek comedy, "Ray's Male Heterosexual Dance Hall," a man in search of a job is taken to the perfect place to make business contacts. (This feature received an Academy Award winner for Best Short Film.)

In "Homesick," a grandfather lives with his son's family temporarily, but the elderly man pretends to be senile to insure that he will be sent back to his nursing home so he may be with the woman he loves. His grandson, Sam, however, learns that he is deceiving the family. After learning of the deception, Sam decides he ought to tell his parents her's senility is contrived. (This program received the Silver Award at the Houston International Film Festival.)
