Summary

This program presents an adaptation of Eugene O'Neill's drama about Nina Leeds, an attractive but troubled woman who is traumatized by the loss of her fiancée during World War I. Unable to overcome her obsession with her early love, Nina's grief causes a pattern of self-destructive acts. Her struggles are complicated by the overprotective behavior of her father, Professor Leeds. (Glenda Jackson won the British Drama Award for Best Actress for her performance, and Edward Petherbridge was the recipient of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor) Concludes with T:26960.
