JIM HENSON'S "MUPPET BABIES": "...AT THE MOVIES" AND "COMIC CAPERS" (TV)

Summary

One in this series of animated children's programs featuring the Muppet Babies, characters based on Jim Henson's Muppets. In the first portion, "...At the Movies," two familiar characters from "The Muppet Show" pay a visit to the Muppet Babies -- "Uncle" Statler and "Uncle" Waldorf, who are about to open a new movie theater. In a special preview screening, the Muppet Babies pick their favorite movies and appear in clips from the films "Short Circuit II" and "The Last Remake of Beau Geste," among others. Meanwhile, Piggy prepares for her Hollywood screen test. In the second portion, "Comic Capers," the Muppet Babies are disappointed when they realize that Nanny isn't available to read the Sunday comics to them, so they use their imaginations to create stories to go with the pictures, and appear in various animated strips, including "Peanuts," "The Blondie and Dagwood Prime Time Special," and "Spiderman," featuring Rowlf as "Spiderdog" and Skeeter as "Spidergirl." Reluctant to begin the unpleasant task of cleaning up the hallway, Gonzo imagines that he is "Space Cadet Gonzo," and encounters alien creatures on a planet in outer space. Commercials deleted.
