HAPPY DAYS REUNION, THE (TV)
Summary
This special program recalls the eleven-year run of the comedy series, "Happy Days," through interviews with creator Garry Marshall and cast members, and classic clips from the series. Host Henry Winkler reunites most of the cast, including Ron Howard, Marion Ross, Tom Bosley, Anson Williams, Donny Most, Scott Baio, Pat Morita, and Al Molinaro. Highlights include the following themes and moments from "Happy Days": the loving and sometimes frisky relationship between Marion and Howard Cunningham; the episode when Fonzie first moves in with the Cunninghams; Fonzie's secret crush on Mrs. C., revealed in never-before-seen footage; Richie Cunningham's innocence; the relationship between Fonzie and Richie; the episode when Richie interviews the alien Mork from Ork, played by Robin Williams; Fonzie's appeal to the women of Milwaukee; the donation of Fonzie's leather jacket to the Smithsonian Institution in 1981; the amount of dating that Richie and his friends Potsie and Ralph did; Richie's dates with Fonzie's women, who were always a step ahead of him; Fonzie's introduction of Laverne and Shirley to Richie; the characters' hangout of Arnold's Drive-In; changes in the show as it evolved; creating characters that viewers would want to have over for dinner; the relationship between Joanie and Chachi; the comraderie among the cast members, as evidenced by bloopers and practical jokes on the set; a parade in Milwaukee held in honor of the cast; the scene between Richie and Fonzie when Richie leaves for the Army; and the way the series ends, with the entire cast of characters celebrating Joanie and Chachi's wedding. The special concludes with a reunion of the cast members. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. This program is closed-captioned.
