Continued from T:27093. The 38th hour of CNN's coverage of the attempted coup against Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev. On "Newshour," anchors Bobbie Battista and Reid Collins summarize the latest developments in Moscow, including a report that an attack on the Russian Federation Building is imminent and that the people are preparing for violence; British Prime Minister John Major discussing his conversation with Russian President Boris Yeltsin, who told him that Gorbachev was seen by a doctor on August 19 and declared fit, and that tanks are advancing towards the Russian Federation Building; and conflicting reports about the tanks. News from the Soviet Union is followed by a summary of domestic news, including the court appearance of confessed serial killer Donald Leroy Evans and the trial of accused child molester Robert Kelly. After a business news update, Moscow bureau chief Steve Hurst explains that neither he nor Claire Shipman (a CNN reporter inside the Russian Federation Building) have seen anything that would suggest a coordinated attack.
