M*A*S*H {MASH}: FOLLIES OF THE LIVING -- CONCERNS OF THE DEAD (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy programs about the men and women of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M*A*S*H) stationed behind the lines during the Korean War. In this episode, Klinger develops a high fever from a mysterious illness, enabling him to communicate with the spirit of a soldier who has just died. While the 4077th medical staff is dedicated to making sure Klinger returns to health, Hawkeye realizes that the life of Private Weston cannot be saved. Gripped by zealous delirium, Klinger is able to see the young private's spirit exit his body while Father Mulcahy performs the last rites. The spirit of Weston refuses to believe that he is dead, however, and he moves around the camp pleading with the medical personnel to acknowledge his existence. Klinger attempts to reassure the deceased soldier while battling his own illness. Commercials deleted. (This program is closed-captioned.)
