MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD: MISTER ROGERS TALKS TO PARENTS ABOUT SUPERHEROES (TV)

Summary

One in this series of programs for young children, hosted by Fred Rogers, which uses puppets and music to teach patience and cooperation, while providing guidance to help children cope with feelings and frustrations. This is one of five special episodes about superheroes. The program begins with Mister Rogers singing "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" Next, Rogers and Mr. McFeeley visit the studio where the television program "The Incredible Hulk" is filmed and talk with cast members Lou Ferrigno, who plays the Hulk, and Bill Bixby, who plays Dr. David Banner. Included is a clip of Ferrigno being made up for his role as the green-skinned goliath. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, where hand-puppet characters interact with humans in the mythical kingdom of King Friday XIII, Joe Negri and Betty Aberlin hunt for the phantom dinosaur. Rogers then concludes the program by singing two songs. This program is closed-captioned.
