Summary
This presentation is the music video for Michael Jackson's song "Black or White." The video begins with Macaulay Culkin dancing in his bedroom to loud music. George Wendt, who plays Culkin's dad, stomps upstairs and demands that he turn the music off. Instead, Culkin breaks out his electric guitar and hooks it up to two huge speakers in the living room. The noise from the speakers catapults his dad's chair through the roof and into outerspace, and it lands in a faraway desert. Michael Jackson appears in the desert amid a group of native tribesmen, and he begins to dance with them. Jackson proceeds to shift from one setting to another, with each tableau featuring a different ethnic group. The last tableau morphs into the interior of a snow globe, and two babies are shown sitting on a model earth as they pick up the snow globe. Then Jackson's image is superimposed on conflagrant scenes of war and destruction. Jackson then appears on the torch of the Statue of Liberty, and the background expands to display noted monuments from around the world. A sequence of people of different ethnicities are shown dancing, with each face morphing into the next. The song stops after the last person is shown, and a director says cut. Then the camera pulls back to survey the behind-the-scenes view of the video shoot. Suddenly, a black panther appears, walking stealthily through the scene and into an alley, where it morphs into Michael Jackson. Jackson begins dancing, and he smashes all the windows of an old car as he sporadically snarls and screams. Finally, Jackson morphs back into the panther. At this point, the image of the alley scene appears on a cartoon television screen that is being watched by Bart Simpson. Bart's dad, Homer, comes in and tells Bart to turn the television off; then Homer points the remote at the television and the screen is filled with static.
