WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SANDIEGO?: NO BRAINER (TV)
Summary
One in this daily series of children's quiz programs which tests young people's geographic knowledge. Based on a popular computer game, this Emmy Award-winning series intersperses animation and live-action segments as contestants try to discover the whereabouts of the internationally notorious Carmen Sandiego. Greg Lee hosts the program, which features Lynne Thigpen as the hard-boiled chief, the a cappella quartet Rockapella, and a changing roster of guest stars. When Sandiego and her band burglarize Moscow's "Brain Institute" and steal the preserved gray matter of great Russians from the past, the Acme CrimeNet detective agency swings into action. Contestants Amar Rewari, Kristyna Nazar, and Jon-Paul Durazio answer questions and try to solve the case, which leads them to the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh, Zanzibar, Israel, Leipzig, and North Dakota. Special guest Angela Watson provides a hot tip that leads to an island off of East Africa.
