HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: THE SHELL SEEKERS (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas presented by Hallmark. This drama concerns Penelope Keeling, a sixty-three-year-old British widow who begins a quest for self-discovery after suffering from a heart attack. Through flashbacks and a sojourn to Cornwall, her home during World War II, Keeling reflects on the relationships and defining moments of her life. She attempts to mend relations with her three adult, self-centered children, all of whom are leading joyless lives. The widow was always held responsible for the death of her own husband, Ambrose, by her mother-in-law, so Keeling confronts her. When paintings that had belonged to Keeling's late father become valuable, however, she is besieged by her offspring, who want her to sell the art and share the profits with them. She considers parting with the beloved artwork, but begins devoting attention to a young couple who are in a troubled relationship and in need of her guidance. Having enjoyed the gratitude of this couple, she realizes how she ought to handle the children whom she loves and the paintings and memories that she cherishes. Includes commercials and promos. This program is closed-captioned.
