REN AND STIMPY SHOW, THE: STIMPY'S BIG DAY; THE BIG SHOT (TV)
Summary
One in this animated series about a manic Chihuahua named Ren and a slow-witted cat named Stimpy. The program begins with an ad parody for Log, a toy with multiple uses for the imaginative child. In the first segment, "Stimpy's Big Day," Ren berates Stimpy for watching too much television, especially his favorite program, "The Muddy Mudskipper Show." Ecstatic over the show's Gritty Kitty Litter contest, Stimpy composes an ode to the product and mails it, despite Ren's derision. When Stimpy wins $47 million, he becomes host of his own variety series. The next segment, "The Big Shot," chronicles the consequences of Stimpy's stardom: Stimpy shoots Gritty Kitty Litter commercials, while an unshaven Ren withers away in a dilapidated trailer. Every channel on television airs a program starring Ren's special friend, including the retitled series, "The Stimpy and Muddy Show." Yet Stimpy straightens out his priorities and returns to Ren, poorer but wiser. The program concludes with Ren bidding viewers farewell as Stimpy enjoys some Gritty Kitty Litter. Commercials deleted.
