MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD: MISTER ROGERS TALKS ABOUT LEARNING {ELLA JENKINS PLAYS THE KAZOO} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of programs for young children, hosted by Fred Rogers, which uses puppets and music to teach patience and cooperation, while providing guidance to help children cope with feelings and frustrations. In this episode, Mister Rogers uses a broken vacuum cleaner tube to create a tunnel for his toy car and to turn himself into an elephant. Then, Ella Jenkins teaches Mister Rogers a balloon song and how to play "London Bridge" on the kazoo. Following her visit, the trolley travels to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, where hand-puppet characters interact with humans in the mythical kingdom of King Friday XIII. In this episode, H.J. Elephant, Lady Elaine Fairchild, and Robert Troll try to help Lady Aberlin figure out where the wind comes from. Finally, Mr. McFeely delivers pieces of construction paper with holes in them, and Mister Rogers demonstrate how these sheets of paper can be used to make creative art pieces. Then, Mr. McFeely and Mister Rogers sing the delivery song. The show concludes with footage of adults helping children with various activities.
