STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE: THE HOMECOMING {SECOND SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of science fiction programs about a twenty-fourth-century space station, Deep Space Nine. In this episode, the first in a trilogy, Kira receives an earring from a prison camp on Cardassia Four; the jewelry belongs to a great Bajorian hero, Li Nalas, who was thought to be dead. Meanwhile, an extremist group called the Circle vandalizes the station, claiming Bajor for Bajorans only and calling for the annihilation of all other races. Realizing that Li Nalas is the type of leader Bajor needs, Commander Sisko allows Kira and O'Brien to go to Cardassia Four and rescue the legendary man. Arriving at the station, Li Nalas learns of the tensions among the Bajorans when Quark is branded with the emblem of the Circle. Kira and Sisko tell Li Nalas that he would be the perfect leader for Bajor. At first Li Nalas is reluctant, explaining that the stories told about him are exaggerations and that he is not the man people think he is. After further consideration, however, he agrees to accept any position the Bajorans wish him to take. Unfortunately for Kira, that turns out to be Bajoran Liaison Officer to Deep Space Nine, her current position. Meanwhile, Sisko's son is stood up by his Bajoran date because he is not Bajoran. Commercials deleted. (The trilogy continues with T:31974.) This program is closed-captioned.
