Summary
Part one of two. One in this British drama series about Dr. Eddie "Fitz" Fitzgerald, a brilliant forensic psychologist on retainer with the Manchester Police who drinks and gambles to excess and has a troubled family life. In this episode, Fitz and the CID investigate the murder of a teenager. In part one, the investigation is hampered by their inability to get full cooperation from the boy's family, authorities at his school, or the adulterous couple who stumbled upon the scene of the crime. Fitz finds a book of poetry in Tim's bedroom that leads him to suspect Tim's English teacher, Cassidy, of the crime. But progress on the case is further hindered by the imminent birth of Billborough's child, homophobia in the department, and hysterical vigilantism amongst the townspeople.
