MIAMI VICE: THE HOME INVADERS (TV)
Summary
One in this series of police dramas concerning Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, undercover detectives for the Miami vice squad. In this episode, the vice squad detectives are assigned to a robbery case when the original investigators are stymied by the group of thieves they've dubbed the "Home Invaders." Lt. Castillo clashes with Lt. Malone, the officer in charge of the investigation, who he feels is running the case sloppily. Castillo starts digging deep into old files and discovers that identical crimes were previously committed in Chicago. The detectives discover that a common hairdresser was used by all the victims, and are able to single out a suspect -- a parking valet who copies house keys when he parks cars. After determining the next likely victim, Crockett and Castillo wait in the woman's house, but get worried when the burglars don't show. When it turns out that the woman had driven her daughter's car to the salon, Crockett and Castillo head to the daughter's house, where an attack is already taking place. The detectives must confront the criminals before their back-up arrives, with serious repercussions for Lt. Malone. Commercials deleted.
