MIAMI VICE: BOUGHT AND PAID FOR (TV)
Summary
One in this series of police dramas concerning Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, undercover detectives for the Miami vice squad. In this episode, Calabrese's friend Odette is raped by Arroyo, the son of a wealthy Bolivian banker. Odette, a Haitian immigrant, had worked for Arroyo and quit when she learned that he had raped a previous employee of his. Arroyo did not let her resignation stop him from pursuing her, however. Odette is afraid to file rape charges against Arroyo, but Calabrese convinces her to do so. Other members of the vice squad attempt to find Arroyo's previous victim in the hopes of strengthening Odette's case against him. However, Arroyo's father pays Odette's mother a great deal of money to keep her daughter silent and the charges are dropped. Calabrese goes to Odette's apartment to discuss the situation with her, but finds that she has killed herself after another attack by Arroyo. Calabrese confronts Arroyo and soon discovers that she is his next target. Commercials deleted.
