MIAMI VICE: JUNK LOVE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of police dramas concerning Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, undercover detectives for the Miami vice squad. In this episode, Crockett and Tubbs come to the aid of Rosella, a heroin-addicted prostitute who has been beaten up by a john in a brothel run by a pimp named Ivory Jones (Miles Davis). They visit the young woman in the hospital and learn that until recently she lived with Silva, a major drug smuggler from whom she was trying to escape when Jones took her in. Now Rosella offers to help the police get to Silva. Tubbs suspects her sincerity, but Crockett convinces him to let her go back to set up the criminal kingpin. Crockett wrangles an introduction to Silva, impressing him enough to secure employment for himself and Tubbs. All is going smoothly with the undercover operation until a spiteful and strung-out Rosella tells Silva how she earned a living while she was away. Silva murders Ivory Jones in a jealous rage, and he is soon on to Crockett and Tubbs as well. The druglord turns the tables on the police in a nautical showdown where the shocking truth about Silva's relationship with Rosella is revealed. Commercials deleted.
