Summary
One in this daytime serial about the lives and loves of the residents of Pine Valley, Pennsylvania. In this episode, Alec McIntyre asks Hayley Vaughan on a date and though she at first suspects he has ulterior motives, she gives in and accepts; Dixie Cooney and Tad Martin, in Napa Valley, pronounce their continuing love for each other and kiss; Brooke English and Derek Frye search through a dark swamp for Edmund Grey and when they find him drowning in quicksand, Brooke risks her own life to save him; Julia Santos, at odds with her sister Maria, makes a pass at Charlie and asks if she can stay with him; Tad calls home and avoids telling his mother Ruth the truth about his dealings with Ted; Brooke and Edmund go to her Aunt Phoebe's cabin to change out of their mud-soaked clothing and have a fireside talk; Hayley visits Brian, who tells her she should make up with Charlie; Hayley is hostile and defensive when Charlie turns up at Brian's and says he has been to an Al-Anon meeting; Tad tells Dixie that he wants his wife Brooke to be happy and Dixie suggests that if Brooke and Edmund rediscover each other, there might be hope for all four of them; and Brooke tells Edmund that she still loves him and the two kiss.
