LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN {DREW BARRYMORE, MEGADETH} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of late-night talk shows hosted by David Letterman. This program features a "Stupid Human Tricks" segment, actress Drew Barrymore, and rock band Megadeth.

Following his opening monologue, Letterman introduces "Peggy, the Foul-Mouthed CBS Librarian," a "disagreeable" woman who brings a batch of "new books" including "The Big Book of Things I Can Fit in My Ears" by Prince Charles; "How to Live in L.A. on Absolutely Nothing!" by Kato Kaelin; and "1001 Hilarious Alibis" by Johnnie Cochran. Next, Letterman reads the Top Ten List: "Hot Dog Vendor Pick-Up Lines" followed by a "Stupid Human Tricks" segment which includes a man who pretends he is using a video camera, with special effects he provides by chattering his partially removed dentures; a young woman who spits her chewing gum out of her mouth and then sucks it back in; and two men who flex their pectoral muscles to the music of "Dueling Banjos."

Later, Letterman is joined by actress Drew Barrymore, who talks about how she jumped ship during an extremely boring cruise vacation; tells a story about a post-mortem party given for her grandfather, actor John Barrymore, by his two best friends, W.C. Fields and Errol Flynn; and talks about her bad luck as a driver. Finally Megadeth performs a song from their current album. Commercials deleted.
