LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN {MARY MATALIN, RAY ROMANO, NATHAN CAVALERI} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of late-night talk shows hosted by Conan O'Brien. In this program, sidekick Andy Richter presents his remote report from the Woodstock '94 festival in Saugerties, New York, where he frolicks in the parking lot, gets into the spirit of sharing by bumming food and drink from everyone in sight; and talks with musicians Primus, Youssou N'Dour, Blind Melon, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Dweezil Zappa, and MTV veejay Kennedy. Also, O'Brien presents a videotape of a non-winning entry in the "Ninth Annual College Band Search" -- a group called the Tap-Tones, with a tap-dancing lead singer; Mary Matalin, ex-campaign manager for the failed re-election bid of President George Bush and co-host of CNBC's "Equal Time," talks about being called one of the "pushiest women in America," as well as her new book, written with her husband James Carville, her beauty school training, and the Clinton crime bill. In the second part of Richter's Woodstock report, the second banana visits with rocker Melissa Etheridge, dope-smoking rappers Cypress Hill, and muscle-bound punk icon Henry Rollins, and takes a slide into the mud pit. Next, comedian Ray Romano talks about ordering at Burger King, the trials of having twin one-year-old boys, and fantasizing in the shower. Twelve-year-old blues guitar prodigy Nathan Cavaleri then discusses picking up the guitar at age three, his blues idols, and his current U.S. tour. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. (This program is closed-captioned.)
