LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN {RICHARD BENJAMIN, MILLA} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of late-night talk shows hosted by Conan O'Brien. In this program, following O'Brien's monologue, the host presents a special baseball "Strike '94" update including the following segments: a look at ways in which the souvenir industry can salvage worthless baseball merchandise, such as adjusting a "Let's Go Mets" pennant to read "Let's Go Metric"; a still photo of Attorney General Janet Reno, with moving human lips superimposed, delivering an angry message to striking owners and players; and an appearance in the audience by a "mascot" wearing a huge replica of O'Brien's head. Other highlights of this program include the following: a clip of the previous Friday's show, altered to make it sound as though sidekick Andy Richter is making a lewd proposition to guest La Toya Jackson; actor-director Richard Benjamin talks about working with child actors in his new film "Milk Money," about his early days as an ambitious NBC page, and his movie, "My Favorite Year," an affectionate look at a 1950s television comedy show; a losing entry in "Late Night"s" "Ninth Annual College Band Search," -- an act called Chris & Chris, featuring a pianist, a guitarist, and an interpretive dancer; singer and model Milla performs a song from her debut album "The Divine Comedy" and later discusses her immigration to the U.S. from Russia at age five. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements.
