PICKET FENCES: REMOTE CONTROL (TV)
Summary
One in this series of offbeat dramas that often focuses on social issues as it chronicles the lives of Rome, Wisconsin, residents, including town sheriff Jimmy Brock; his wife Dr. Jill Brock; their three children Kimberly, Matthew, and Zachary; and his two deputies Kenny Lacos and Maxine Stewart. In this episode, Timmy, the boy who shot Matthew, appears in court and pleads guilty to attempted murder. Douglas Wambaugh, his defense attorney, attempts to prove that violence in films and on television caused Matthew to commit the crime; Wambaugh hopes that his client, therefore, will be treated with leniency. Meanwhile, Sheriff Brock breaks the law when he refuses to leave his office after being fired by Mayor Harris for failing to implement random searches and mandatory fingerprinting of citizens in the town of Rome. Commercials deleted.
