PICKET FENCES: MR. SEED GOES TO TOWN (TV)
Summary
One in this series of off-beat dramas that often focuses on social issues as it chronicles the lives of Rome, Wisconsin, residents, including town Sheriff Jimmy Brock; his wife Dr. Jill Brock; their three children, Kimberly, Matthew, and Zachary; and his two deputies, Kenny Lacos and Maxine Stewart. In this episode, Jimmy's ex-wife, Lydia, arrives in Rome to get his permission to use his sperm to become pregnant. Lydia has a chromosomal imbalance, making it highly difficult for her to conceive. Although the sperm of only one in 100,000 men will work, Lydia knows that Jimmy's will work since Kimberly is their biological child. Jill and Jimmy immediately reject the idea, but Kimberly thinks it should be considered. Disappointed by the Brocks' decision, Lydia decides that their choice does not matter since she has other plans. During a mumps scare, Jimmy and Lydia had decided to store a sample of Jimmy's sperm in case he got the mumps and became sterile. Lydia says that the sperm is the property of the marriage and, therefore, she owns it. Outraged, Jimmy and Jill take Lydia to court where Judge Bone makes a surprising decision. Commercials deleted.
