Summary
One in this occasional series of interview specials, hosted by Barbara Walters. On this program, the guests are actors Jim Carrey, Liam Neeson, and Michael Douglas. Highlights include: Carrey discusses the following topics, among others: his current asking price for starring in a movie; why his father gave up playing the saxophone to become an accountant; how he used to sit in front of a mirror making faces in order to occupy his spare time; how, when was fifteen years old, his father put him on stage at a comedy club in Montreal; making the migration to Los Angeles and performing impressions of stars at clubs; how miserable his private life was while his comedy career began to thrive; and the death of his father and how much it affected him. In the next segment Liam Neeson talks about the following topics, among others: what he thought his occupation was going to be while he was still a child; how he got into acting and what his first major acting job was; why he returned to the stage and how he was picked to star in the Broadway revival of "Anna Christie"; whether he thought he had gotten the role in "Schindler's List" after his audition; whether his reputation as a ladies' man is true; and the upcoming birth of his child. In the final segment, Michael Douglas discusses the following topics, among others: the criticism he has drawn from women's organizations, protesting the body of work he's done; why he likes the risky edge his movies and roles take on; the complexity of doing a sex scene; his highly publicized entry into an alcohol rehabilitation center; what he learned from his stay at the rehab center; whether or not he believes in fidelity at this stage in his life; and the issue of having another child when he just recently turned fifty.
